Getting started at the Aix Marseille University libraries

University libraries are an open service : anyone can come and read our documents, but if you want to borrow a document, you need to be registered at the library.

Your University ID card is also your Library card : you can borrow up to 12 items at the same time for 14, 21  or 28 days (this depends on the library).

Journals and DVDs are restricted to 4 items for only 1 week. In the science libraries you can also borrow high tech items such as cameras, tablets, calculators for 7 days : https://bu.univ-amu.fr/pret-tablettes-materiel-audiovisuel

Renewal is possible unless your items are late. The extension period begins the day when you extend your books lending.

You can renew your loan period online by using your library account on the library catalog.

If you are late, you are not allowed to borrow other books and the suspension is equivalent to the number of days you are late

How to reserve a document ?

1. Log into  the online library catalog, by using your AMU login and password (or those delivered to you when you registered at the library if you don't belong to AMU). An English version of the catalog is available.
2. Reserve your document, and chose the library where you want to pick the document
3. As soon as your document is available, an email will be sent to you. You have 5 days to come and retrieve it.
4. You can return the document in any library of the AMU libraries network.

If you need to borrow documents available outside the AMU libraries, you have to use the Inter Library Loan Service. This service is not free of charge and you have to be registered at the library to use it. Please use the form in the following link to contact us :
